Natyabhumi,
as a drama troop, is centered in Tripura where two streams of culture- one
being very rich culture of the local tribes and the other having the
cultural heritage of Bengale people, uprooted from their motherland
intermingled in the greater ride thought the course of time.
Ours is not a long one, a span
of life from 1993 only, our motto is not only to perform stage plays, but
also to contribute towards a good theatre movement, to establishing Theatre
as a major art of the mass people.
We perform not only stage play,
but do conduct theatre workshops, seminars, etc. We organise a biennial
theatre festival in every alternate year in the memory of our beloved
founder playwright Chandan Sengupta which is marked as a prestigious culture
endeavor in the entire region.
Some of the renowned plays of Natyabhumi are
Aarohan, Sonar harin, Abalamban,
Prasanga Haradhanu, Kalbela, Dharmagola, Dead letter, Pretochchaya and
Manasha Khatha.
